The Steps to Make Steel

Steelmaking is far from the easiest job out there. It starts by producing coke — a specific kind of coal exclusively used for steel making. It is combined with iron ore, the primary raw material for iron, and limestone, which aids the process. These Stainless Steel Products are loaded into a very large oven known as a blast furnace. In this furnace they are heated to such high temperatures that they melt together to form a liquid. 

Getting the Steel Ready

Keep the steel clean after melting the materials. This is done by removing all the impurities. This was an important step in the steel refining. It is important in hard and quality steel, too. The Steel won’t be very durable if these impurities are not removed. The steel is then refined and processed and poured into bars or sheets. That means we can use it for other purposes down the line. 

Shaping the Steel

The steel is now cast into different shapes, and can be formed into other shapes we require. This can be carried out in multiple ways viz. rolling or forging. Rolling consists of heating the steel until it is soft, and then passing it through large rollers which press and shape it into the intended form. Another method of shaping steel is through forging. This process involves heating and then hammered or pressed the steel into shape. All of these processes are critical to ensure the steel makes the cut — pun intended.

Steel: Steel is another highly crucial materials utilized in various sectors and is also greatly used in structural units, bridges, and factories. This durable material is able to withstand high pressure and high force without rupturing. Steel is also one of those materials that is recyclable. So, after we use it, we can recycle it, melt it down and process it to new products over and over. Recycling steel saves resources and is beneficial for environment.
